Organic Cedarwood essential oil, 10 ml, ALTEYA Cedarwood essential oil is extracted by steam distillation from the parts of the Cedrus Deodara tree. The oil is pale yellow in colour and has a pleasant, fresh, woody aroma. Over the centuries, various cultures, such as American Indians and Tibetan communities, have used cedarwood essential oil to alleviate mild and severe illnesses. Cedarwood oil is also known to relax the body and mind, making it ideal for use in religious ceremonies and spiritual practices. It is still used for such purposes and in the cosmetics industry. When used in cosmetics, cedarwood essential oil helps soothe irritated, red and itchy skin, as well as dryness that causes cracking, flaking or blistering. Cedar oil is also known to protect the skin from environmental pollutants and toxins, helping to prevent or reduce the likelihood of rashes. Cedarwood oil is thought to regulate the production of sebum in the skin, making it beneficial for combination or oily skin. Cedarwood essential oil has a cleansing effect on the skin, as it is known for its ability to remove some harmful bacteria. A combination of several essential oils – cedarwood, thyme, lavender or rosemary – is recommended for hair loss. These oils are diluted with a base oil and the resulting mixture is applied to the scalp with light massaging movements and left on for at least half an hour before being rinsed off.
