Ganoderma lucidum, Ling Zhi or Reishi mushroom grows in Asia and has long been used in Eastern traditional medicine for longevity and all-round health. Today, Reishi is used as a supplement with certain health-promoting properties.
The main bioactive compounds in reishi are beta-glucan polysaccharides and ganoderic and ganoderic acids (also known as triterpenes). In addition, reishi provides polyphenolic antioxidants, prebiotic fibres, ergosterol (a precursor of vitamin D), peptides, enzymes, etc.
Recommended daily dose: 2 grams of powder. Take with water or in smoothies and dishes.
