Organic Sage Essential Oil, 10 ml, ALTEYA Sage essential oil is extracted by steam distillation from the leaves of the Salvia officinalis (medicinal sage) plant. This plant takes its name from the Latin word ‘Selvere’, which means ‘to save’. Sage oil is a clear to pale yellow liquid with a fresh aroma. In aromatherapy, sage essential oil stimulates the mind while providing a sense of balance and calm. It is thought to be able to dispel negative emotions. It can also improve memory and ease digestive and respiratory discomfort. When used topically, sage oil helps to remove toxins, relieve pain from minor skin lesions, and reduce the visibility of scars, stretch marks, wounds and swellings. After dilution with sage base oil, it can be applied to the skin, especially on acne, insect bites, stings, minor wounds, etc. Its moisturising and soothing properties make it particularly useful for dry or irritated skin. Sage oil is also used to relieve muscle and joint pain, digestive problems and skin conditions such as dermatitis.
